Khayyats is a family web studio in Kuala Lumpur. Khayyat means tailor, and we build websites the way a tailor makes clothes: measured, fitted and looked after.
Thread 1 · The name
It is our family name. We make websites, not clothes, but we work the way a good tailor does.
Thread 2 · The loom
In 1804 Joseph Marie Jacquard built a loom that read its patterns from punched cards. Charles Babbage borrowed the idea for his Analytical Engine, and punched cards went on to feed computers well into the 1970s.
Thread 3 · The brothers
You deal with family, by first name, on WhatsApp. The person who built your site is the one who answers.
“We may say most aptly that the Analytical Engine weaves algebraical patterns just as the Jacquard-loom weaves flowers and leaves.”
KHAYYATS, punched in 8-bit code. One column per letter, a hole for every 1.
